Bespoke Kitchens in Reigate
Hand-built kitchens for Reigate, Redhill, Betchworth and the villages tucked along the North Downs ridge.
Designing kitchens for Reigate homes
Reigate is one of the clearest examples of why we chose Lingfield as our base. A straight run along the A25 puts us on Reigate's doorstep, and from there the whole arc south of the town — Reigate Hill, Doods Park, Wray Common, Meadvale — is on our regular survey route. We design, build and fit every kitchen to order, so the work suits the specific property rather than being squeezed into a standard plan.
Every project starts with a free on-site survey. One designer takes the brief, handles the CAD layouts, specs the cabinets, worktops and appliances, and stays with the job through to installation. Our fitters are our own — not subcontracted — which makes a real difference to the final fit and finish, especially on the kind of older houses Reigate is full of.
What we see in Reigate
Reigate's housing divides roughly into three. The tight streets close to the High Street — Chart Lane, West Street, Church Street — are dominated by Victorian terraces and small Edwardian semis, where the kitchen sits in a narrow back-addition and the project usually means opening up into a dining room or out to a side return. The Doods and Wray Common areas are substantial Edwardian and inter-war detached family homes where we fit more island-centric layouts with walk-in pantries. And the newer developments out toward Reigate Heath and Meadvale are typically open-plan from the start, so the focus shifts to cabinetry style and appliance integration rather than structural change.
A fair slice of central Reigate falls inside a conservation area, and a handful of streets have listed properties on them. We've worked across all of it: sash-window sightlines protected, original floorboards retained, cabinet depths reduced to keep period proportions. It's careful, design-led work, and we'd rather do it properly than force a standard kitchen into a 200-year-old house.

Frequently asked questions — kitchens in Reigate
- Do you cover all of Reigate and the surrounding area?
- Yes — Reigate, Redhill, Merstham, Betchworth, Leigh, Reigate Heath, Meadvale, Reigate Hill and the villages up to the North Downs are all within our standard catchment. Surveys are free across this whole area and there's no mileage charge.
- Can you design a kitchen for a listed or conservation-area property in Reigate?
- Yes. We design regularly for conservation-area homes and listed properties across Reigate. Where listed building consent is involved we'll coordinate with your conservation officer and, where needed, your architect — and we'll specify cabinetry, finishes and services that don't require irreversible changes to the original fabric.
- What's a realistic timeline from first visit to finished kitchen in Reigate?
- For a cabinets-and-worktops replacement in an existing room: roughly 10–14 weeks end-to-end (2–4 weeks design, 6–8 weeks manufacture, 1–2 weeks fit). If you're extending, knocking through, or replacing flooring, the kitchen slots into the main building programme and the total depends on the construction schedule.
- What budget should I expect for a bespoke Reigate kitchen?
- Our complete kitchens typically start around £25,000 including cabinetry, worktops, mid-range appliances, installation and VAT. Projects with longer runs, stone worktops and premium appliances typically land between £40,000 and £80,000, and larger island-centric schemes in the bigger Reigate Hill / Doods Park houses sometimes go higher. Quotes are fully itemised after the survey.
- How do you minimise disruption — especially if we're juggling school runs?
- For most Reigate installs we keep the sink, oven and fridge functional overnight wherever possible, clean down site daily, and coordinate delivery slots to avoid school pick-up times on the residential streets (Chart Lane, Church Street, etc.). For homes with school-age children we can also phase the fit to minimise the number of days without a working kitchen.
