Bespoke Kitchens in East Grinstead
Hand-crafted kitchens designed around East Grinstead homes — from period cottages in the High Street conservation area to contemporary family homes across Ashurst Wood and Felbridge.
Designing kitchens for East Grinstead homes
East Grinstead is one of our busiest design areas. The town's mix of historic High Street properties, large inter-war family homes and newer developments around Imberhorne, Felbridge and Ashurst Wood means no two briefs are ever the same. We design, build and install every kitchen from scratch, so the layout genuinely suits the house rather than forcing the house to accept a standard product.
Projects run from our Lingfield showroom, fifteen minutes away. You'll work with the same designer from first survey through to final handover, and our fitters are our own team — not subcontracted — so the quality of finish on fiddly details (scribing to uneven walls, mitred worktops, matching paint on made-up pieces) is consistent from one job to the next.
What we see in East Grinstead
The timber-framed houses along the High Street and the older streets off it — Moat Road, Blackwell Hollow, Cantelupe Road — often need a careful, conservation-minded approach. Chamfered beams, uneven ceiling heights and load-bearing chimneys usually push the layout toward a traditional hand-painted scheme with an in-frame cabinet, sometimes with glazed dressers or a freestanding butcher's block.
In the newer parts of East Grinstead — the Imberhorne estates, Felbridge and the big detached homes along Dunnings Road — we see a lot more contemporary briefs: handleless runs, full-height larder units, large islands with breakfast bars, and walk-in pantries. Both approaches use the same underlying cabinetry; it's the materials, finishes and hardware that change.

Frequently asked questions — kitchens in East Grinstead
- Do you cover the whole of East Grinstead including Ashurst Wood and Felbridge?
- Yes. East Grinstead itself, Felbridge, Ashurst Wood, Forest Row, Sharpthorne and the surrounding villages are all inside our normal catchment from the Lingfield showroom. Surveys across this area are free of charge.
- Can you fit a new kitchen into a period property in the East Grinstead conservation area?
- Yes — we design regularly for listed and conservation-area homes. We survey carefully so cabinet runs sit with the existing joinery, door-swings, sash windows and services rather than against them. On listed properties we'll work with your conservation officer and, if needed, your architect before any commitment.
- What kitchen styles suit the larger Felbridge and Imberhorne houses?
- For the bigger detached homes we most often design handleless or slab-front schemes with a large central island, paired with an integrated or walk-in pantry and a utility/boot room extension. Stone or sintered worktops (Dekton, Neolith, Caesarstone) are the usual choice for the island surface.
- Do you supply the appliances too, or do I buy them separately?
- Either works. As partners with Neff, Bosch, Siemens, Miele, Quooker and AEG, we can quote the whole package including appliances, which simplifies delivery and means a single point of contact if anything needs replacing under warranty. If you already have preferred appliances, we just build the design around them.
- How disruptive is an installation?
- For a straight replacement with no building work, most East Grinstead kitchens are fitted in 5–10 working days. We leave the kitchen usable (sink, cooker, fridge) overnight wherever possible, and we clean down and take all old units away at the end of each day.
