The Downsway, Sutton

This bespoke kitchen in Sutton brings together sophisticated minimalist design with the practical needs of a busy household. The handleless rail design strips visible hardware from cabinet doors and drawers, leaving a seamless, uncluttered front face that defines the look of the room. The colour palette balances calm and character. Porcelain cabinets across the main runs lend a soft, luminous backdrop, while Pantry Blue is used selectively on lower units and feature cabinetry to add depth and a focal point amidst the neutral tones. Brass handleless rail profiles tie the scheme together — warm metallic accents that read as a tactile detail every time you open a door. The central island is the social heart of the kitchen, equally at home as a prep space, a casual eating spot, or somewhere to gather while entertaining. Storage was a key design priority — pull-out drawers, custom organisers and top-box wall units keep countertops clear, and a double-door pantry unit with rebated strip lighting finishes the run. Cooking is handled by NEFF N90 appliances, with a BORA X Pure induction hob and integrated extraction keeping the cooking zone uncluttered (no traditional overhead hood needed). A Quooker hot tap delivers instant boiling water for tea-making, pasta cooking and sterilising. Worktops are Dekton Opera — ultra-durable, heat-resistant and scratch-proof, with the visual elegance of natural marble. Strategically placed pendants and under-cabinet illumination transition the space seamlessly from bright day-time prep to softer evening entertaining.
